Technology Classes

Technology classes are offered in small class sizes (8 people max.) that meet morning, afternoon or evening starting at the beginning of each month. Over 20 different classes offered, which include Computer Basics, Windows 11, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Smartphones and Tablets, Virtual QuickBooks Online, Canva, Social Media for Seniors.

These classes provide a comfortable learning environment, sensitivity to beginners, private tutoring, practice time, and financial assistance.

Mobile Computer Lab for Seniors - We’re bringing the classroom to you!

Our Mobile Computer Lab for Seniors offers friendly, patient help with:
                 * Email & video calls
                 * Smartphones & tablets
                 * Internet basics
                 * Online appointments & photos

  • Computer Basics

    Classes are being offered February 4, 6, 11, 13 from 9:30am-11:30am.

    Get to know your computer and learn how to use the operating system, write emails, letters, and more!

  • Smartphones/Tablets

    Sessions are being offered February 17, 18, 24, 25 from 9:30am-11:30am.

    Learn how to utilize the many features on your smartphone/tablet and discover what your device can do for you.

  • Microsoft Excel - Beginner

    Sessions are being offered February 18, 19, 25, 26 from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

    Excel is a spreadsheet program used to track and analyze information. Learn how to create-format-sort-filter charts and use simple formulas.

  • Windows 11

    Classes are being offered March 2, 3, 9, 10 from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

    Learn what Windows 11 offers to meet the current demands for heightened security.

Technology Question & Answer

Join us on the second Wednesday of each month from 1:30 - 3:00 pm. There is a $12 fee for each session and registration is required. Call 724-834-9390 to register today!

  • Yoga with Nancy Michaels

    A six-session course on Thursdays from 10:00 am - 11:30 am.

  • Bridge Group

    * Currently the Beginner's Group is full. If interested in joining the Intermediate Group, please give us a call at 724-834-9390. Starting January 2026, the Intermediate Group will gather Thursdays from 1:00pm-3:30pm

  • Midday Tai Chi for Balance & Well-Being with Pat Cummerick

    Fridays from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the YWCA.

    This event is being organized by local female business leaders to honor female high school students who excel in what they do for Westmoreland County.

  • Girls' Field Hockey

    Girls' Field Hockey

    This program is for girls of all ages who are interested in learning or improving their field hockey skills and want to have fun during the off season. Beginners to advanced players are welcome and encouraged to sign up. Registration Forms are linked below

  • TechGYRLS

    The YWCA TechGYRLS Program empowers young women ages 11-14 through education and exposure to robotics technology and promotes continued involvement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
