Volunteer Opportunities


  • Girls in Pearls Fashion Show (an annual event in August)
    • Event Committee Volunteer (meet monthly in late-spring and summer to help with event planning)
  • thrift shop volunteersSportswomen of the Year Awards Banquet (an annual event in April)
    • Event Committee Volunteer (meet monthly in late winter and early spring to help with event planning)
  • Racial Justice Committee
    • Committee Volunteer (meet monthly year-round to plan programming around racial justice topics, including annual Stand Against Racism event, and various workshops throughout the year
  • Rising Star Award Committee
    • Committee Volunteer (meet several times per year to do program planning, source nominations, and select winner

    • Book Sorter (sort books into categories in preparation for annual sale; sorting sessions occur weekly throughout the year.)
    • Book Store Volunteer (provide assistance with book store patrons during normal book store hours.  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and the first Saturday of every month from 10am-2pm.)

Thrift Shop

  • Cashier (run the cash register, provide customer assistance with merchandise questions)
  • Bagger (help with inventory bagging and sorting)
  • Consignment Work (help with consignment sorting, tagging, etc.)

English as a Second Language

  • Instructor Volunteer (teach ESL as available during workday mornings throughout the year)
  • Tutor Volunteer (tutor one-on-one with ESL students; the schedule is mutually decided upon by tutor and student)

Maintenance / Facility Volunteers (at our Headquarters and Thrift Shop – both located in downtown Greensburg, PA)
