YWCA Associate Director Program
Associate members will:
Understand and embrace the mission of the YWCA
Have two years of professional, community based or volunteer experience
Become a member of the YWCA
Sign an agreement which puts forth the responsibilities of the associate
Select a committee and work with fellow committee members in accordance with the purpose of the committee
Participate in one fundraiser and two activities annually
Attend one board meeting a quarter, one of which will be the annual June meeting
Maintain open, regular communication with fellow cohort(s)
Purpose:
The purpose of the YWCA Associate Director Program is to attract young persons with diverse backgrounds as potential board members. This program will enhance the membership and growth of the organization and provide the associate with an introduction to a community non-profit. As an associate, one will have the opportunity for a mentoring experience. The mentoring experience will include participation in select meetings and activities and contact with leaders throughout the organization. Each potential associate will participate in an interview with members of the Governance Committee prior to an appointment. There will be three associates at a time with a tenure of one year, with the option to renew at the invitation of the Governance Committee.

YWCA Thrift Shop
Volunteers are needed for sorting, ironing, cashier, stock person, customer service representative, and consignor.

YWCA Used Bookstore
Volunteers are needed to organize books into specific categories and offer assistance to customers.

YWCA Thrift Shop Facilities Coordinator
Volunteers are needed to work on outdoor projects and assist inside the Thrift Shop where needed.

Volunteers are needed to assist the YWCA team in preparing for upcoming events.

Benefits of becoming a member of the YWCA:
We recently added a new benefit to our members. When you show your new membership card at our Thrift Shop, you will receive an extra punch on your YWCA Thrift Shop Bag Lady card when you spend $10 or more in a single visit. A fully punched card is worth a $10 gift certificate towards your next purchase. Our Thrift Shop offers affordable clothing for women, men and children and also small household items. It is not unusual to find items with the original tags on them! You can also present your membership card at the YWCA Used Bookstore to receive a discount on your purchase at the store.
Additional Membership Information:
To register for membership, you must be 12 years of age or older.
$30 Supporting Member provides materials for one student in our English-as-a-Second Language program.
$50 Patron Member provides financial support for comprehensive YWCA programs designed to empower women, girls and families.
All Century Friend $100 and Honor Circle Friend $200+ Members will be honored at an Annual Luncheon in December. $200 Honor Circle Membership provides funding to tech girls robotics in our TechGYRLS program.
Your YWCA Membership may be used at any YWCA in the world.
The YWCA reserves the right to revoke the membership of or deny membership to anyone whose conduct, behavior or language is inconsistent with the principles of the YWCA Mission.
