Week Without Violence

A- A A+

Week Without Violence is part of a global movement with YWCAs across the country and around the world to end violence against women and girls. At YWCA, we know that not all violence is acknowledged or responded to equally and that some victims go unrecognized altogether. That’s why, for more than 20 years, YWCA has set aside one week in October as a Week Without Violence with the common goal of ending gender-based violence.

This year, YWCA Westmoreland County is promoted Week Without Violence through our annual poster contest. This year’s poster theme was “Choose Peace, Not Violence.”  We had a table at the annual Unity Celebration on October 17, 2019, at Ferrante’s Lakeview, where we held our poster contest voting and gave out information and materials to spread the word on the importance of ending gender-based violence.
