Anyone can participate in Stand Against Racism. Your Stand can be any size, take place anywhere and even be a private event.

Stand Against Racism is a movement initiated by the YWCA in 2008 in order to raise awareness that racism still exists in our communities and that it cannot be ignored or tolerated. Our objective is to bring organizations together, who believe as we do, that united we can eliminate racism.

2019 Stand Against Racism Participating Sites Include:

  • Westmoreland Community Action invites you on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm to stop by WCA’s Board Room (226 South Maple Avenue in Downtown Greensburg, PA) for refreshments and personally pledge to stand against racism with your signature on their pledge board.
  • Seton Hill University will be observing taking a Stand Against Racism on Friday, April 26. The Multicultural Awareness Task Force, with the help of SHU’s marketing department and the willingness of students Ryan Barabe and Tsamara Roberts, will be taking over SHU’s social media until approximately 2 pm to promote the 2019 Stand Against Racism.
  • Marti Haykin an artist, will have a Wall of Anti-Hate in her studio. Visitors will be invited to write messages supporting diversity/standing against racism and stick them on the wall. Her studio is located at 41 West Otterman Street, Suite 501 and will be open 3 pm-5 pm on Saturday, April 27th. Please stop in and make a contribution to her Wall of Anti-Hate!
  • Westmoreland Cultural Trust (located at 102 North Main St, Ste 232 in Greensburg) invites you to view several posters and flyers to support YWCA’s mission that is on display in their Incubator for the Arts and the Art in the Alley on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 11am-6pm.
