Annual Used Book Sale

Thank you to the YWCA Board of Directors, Literacy Volunteers, YWCA Staff, Donors and Local Businesses who help to make the sale a wonderful success!

Donations will be accepted until Tuesday, August 15, 2017 and will begin being accepted again on Monday, October 2, 2017.


2017 Annual Used Book Sale
September 21 - 24
at Westmoreland Mall
Thursday through Saturday
9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM


We encourage you to bring your own bag for shopping at the sale. 


The Annual Used Book Sale is the main fundraiser for the Literacy Program. The money raised during the book sale is used to pay for materials and to help provide free services to our students. There is always a large variety of quality books at the sale. The sale is always held the last full weekend in September.

How can you help?

Donate Books: We accept gently used hard back and paper back fiction and non-fiction books. We DO NOT take text books, magazines, encyclopedias or Reader's Digest Condensed Books. Thank you for your understanding and for your donations!

Work at the Annual Used Book Sale: During the last full weekend in September, the Literacy Program has our Annual Used Book Sale at Westmoreland Mall. Volunteers are needed to work at the sale to restock and straighten books and to work as cashiers. The sale takes place Thursday through Sunday during regular mall hours. Volunteer shifts are scheduled for two to three hours at a time.

Book Sorter: Volunteers are needed to sort through the book donations that are collected throughout the year. Book sorters meet Tuesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 PM (weather permitting) behind the little strip mall by Agway (call for specific directions).
